Collection: Non-Damaging Hair Ties

What makes a hair tie truly non damaging? The answer is the buckle.

Most hair ties marketed as non damaging are still elastic: they still wrap, still grip, still pull on removal. Truly non damaging means the tie releases without any mechanical force applied to your hair. That's only possible with a buckle. Buckle Hair Ties click open and the grip is gone before anything moves. Your hair never experiences the yank that causes damage.

Non damaging comes down to the design.

Best hair tie elastics and scrunchie hair accessories for snag-free, pull-free, rip-free, hair. Smooth, effortless hair ties and hair scrunchies for athletes, active moms, fitness, & sports. Non-Damaging Hair Ties - Buckle Scrunchies

Why it works for hair you are trying to protect

Most hair tie damage happens at takedown, when you drag a tight elastic down your ponytail and strands go with it. Buckle Scrunchies and Buckle Hair Ties click open and unwrap instead, so there is no pulling, no snagging and less breakage, with a hold that still stays secure all day.

How to use Buckle Scrunchies

1. Tying up your hair

  • Start with the buckle closed
  • Hold the buckle so you know where it is
  • Wrap 2 to 4 times around your hair like a normal hair tie
  • Buckle wraps around last, so it can be the first thing to come off!

2. Taking down your hair

  • Locate the buckle (should be around the outside loop)
  • Press the sides of the buckle with the fleshy part of your fingers to click it open
  • Hold both ends of the buckle if you have thicker or curlier hair so it doesn't get lost or tangled
  • Let it unwrap and twirl out of your hair. Remember, there's no need to pull anymore!

FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything people ask about Buckle Scrunchies for hair you are trying to protect.

See how it works
01 What kind of hair tie causes the least damage?

One you never have to pull off. Buckle Hair Ties and Buckle Scrunchies click open and unwrap, so strands are not dragged out at takedown, which is where most breakage happens.

02 Can I use Buckle Hair Ties with extensions?

Yes. Hold both ends as it unwraps and the tie comes out without tugging on bonds or wefts, and you can wrap 2 to 4 times for a hold that stays secure.

03 Why do my hair ties leave broken pieces of hair?

Because the elastic grips strands and drags them as you slide it off. A Buckle Scrunchie clicks open first and unwraps, so there is no dragging and less breakage.
