Collection: Skiing Scrunchies & Hair Ties

Ski hair ties get stiff in the cold, which is why a normal elastic is so hard to get out at the end of the day.

Buckle Scrunchies hold under a helmet all day on the slopes and click off in one motion at the lodge, no yanking through a frozen, tangled ponytail.

Popular with ski racers and weekend skiers who spend a full day helmeted and want skiing hair ties that survive the cold the same way they survive everything else.

Skiing scrunchies and hair ties

Why it works for skiers

A day on the mountain means helmet hair, wind knots, and a hair tie welded into your ponytail by last chair. A Buckle Hair Tie or Buckle Scrunchie holds a low pony or braid secure under your helmet all day, then clicks open and unwraps at the lodge.

How to use Buckle Scrunchies

1. Tying up your hair

  • Start with the buckle closed
  • Hold the buckle so you know where it is
  • Wrap 2 to 4 times around your hair like a normal hair tie
  • Buckle wraps around last, so it can be the first thing to come off!

2. Taking down your hair

  • Locate the buckle (should be around the outside loop)
  • Press the sides of the buckle with the fleshy part of your fingers to click it open
  • Hold both ends of the buckle if you have thicker or curlier hair so it doesn't get lost or tangled
  • Let it unwrap and twirl out of your hair. Remember, there's no need to pull anymore!

Braid it low or tie a low pony right at the nape so the helmet fits. Wrap 3 or 4 times with the buckle on last so it holds every run.
