Collection: Pilates Scrunchies & Hair Ties

Pilates hair ties have to hold a clean bun through mat work, reformer sessions, and barre without loosening by the second set.

Buckle Scrunchies release without tugging when class ends. Search "hair tie for pilates" and most results are generic gym accessories.

A pilates scrunchie built to survive repeated motion is a different product. Studio regulars and at home reformer users keep a few on hand.

Pilates hairstyles for the reformer

Pilates is slow and precise, and half of it happens on your back on a reformer carriage, so a high bun is the wrong answer. A low bun at the nape in a Buckle Scrunchie lies flat on the headrest. A low braid closed with a Buckle Scrunchie keeps long hair from sliding under the shoulder blocks. For a mat class, a low pony with a Buckle Hair Tie wrapped 2 to 4 times clears the neck without pulling the hairline when you look up in a hundred. You choose how tight it sits, so the pony stays put through a fifty minute class, and after class it clicks open and unwraps without dragging through your hair. The neutral colors look right in a studio and the solids match a set.

What hairstyle is best for reformer pilates?

A low bun or low braid at the nape is best for reformer pilates because it lies flat on the headrest. A Buckle Scrunchie holds it secure without pins, then clicks open and unwraps after class with no pulling or tangles.

Will a Buckle Hair Tie pull at my hairline?

A Buckle Hair Tie stays comfortable at your hairline because you choose how tight it sits. It wraps 2 to 4 times and holds secure through every set, and at the end of class it clicks open and unwraps so your edges never get tugged.

Is this a good pilates gift?

A Buckle Scrunchie in a neutral color is a favorite gift for pilates friends and instructors. It fits in a grip sock pouch, holds a low bun through class, comes out without snagging, and the buckle has a 100 year warranty.

Pilates scrunchies and hair ties

Why it works for pilates and reformer regulars

Pilates means lying on your back on the reformer with a ponytail that digs in, then ripping the hair tie out after class. Buckle Scrunchies and Buckle Hair Ties hold a low bun or braid securely through the whole class, then click open and unwrap so nothing gets pulled.

How to use Buckle Scrunchies

1. Tying up your hair

  • Start with the buckle closed
  • Hold the buckle so you know where it is
  • Wrap 2 to 4 times around your hair like a normal hair tie
  • Buckle wraps around last, so it can be the first thing to come off!

2. Taking down your hair

  • Locate the buckle (should be around the outside loop)
  • Press the sides of the buckle with the fleshy part of your fingers to click it open
  • Hold both ends of the buckle if you have thicker or curlier hair so it doesn't get lost or tangled
  • Let it unwrap and twirl out of your hair. Remember, there's no need to pull anymore!
